WHAT IS NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION

Is a BASIC LIFE SUPPORT(BLS) Gurney, wheelchair and ambulatory transportation from and to hospitals that won't require any support other than basic assistance.

We do 2 kinds of Gurney Transportation:  Standard Gurney 24" x 84" inches. up to 750lbs.    Bariatric Gurney 33" x 84" inches up to 750lbs.    We can take members to Urgent Care, dialysis, Dr.'s appointments, transfers from Senior's facilities to the home, or to hospice and post-acute hospitals.    The Gurney transportation services is a delicate and well specialized High-risk level of service when it comes to handling the patient.    The following scenarios could apply:    - Bedridden Patient - The patient is not able to sit or move by him/herself and requires a full assistive level of service. It will be required a minimum of 2 certified NEMT transportation assistants to transfer the patient from the bed to the gurney utilizing resources like bed transfer boards, transfer pads, and evacuation stretchers (Fabric stretcher with handles on the side).    - Self transferable patient - The patient is able to sit at the edge of the bed and a minimum of 2 assistants help to transfer the patient to the gurney.

Our vehicles are equipped with ADA approved powered lift ramps to load stress-free the passenger inside the vehicle and take the member to his/her doctor's appointment, weekly dialysis, hospital's ER/Observation discharge. All our vehicles are constantly cleaned and disinfected to avoid any cross-contamination.    The process to load the patient in/out of the NEMT AMBULANCE is an easy process, depending on the passenger condition and the home condition and the level of service required.    Curve to Curve - medical transportation  Door to Door - medical transportation Assistive - medical transportation.    In all of the above scenarios, the patient is wheeled to the Ambulette van, where is uplifted with a powered lift ramp, safely moved and maneuvered to inside van, secured the wheelchair to the ADA floor lock system, and secure the passenger with 2 safety belts, one crossing his/her chest, attaching it to the second belt securing the passengers by the waist.

Ambulatory : Does not need a wheelchair or gurney - Can walk by themself. We take Ambulatory patients to doctor's appointments, Urgent Care at main hospitals, medical clinics, dialysis 3 days a week and ER discharges.    When transporting Ambulatory passengers, we assist them to get onto the ambulette van, where the passenger is assisted to sit and fasten waist safety bells.    In this case, the passenger is not allowed to be released from a doctor's appointment unless is accompanied by a NEMT driver.    Non-ambulatory passengers will require one of  drivers to provide the member with assistive walking devices i.e. walker /wheelchairs.

In most cases is covered but chances are there is a limited trips per year (it could be 0-26 or more) after that,  it will be out of packet expenses. Please check with your insurance social services department  to see how many runs you have left on your plan(that includes medical or medicare)

It depends of the travel distance, level of service (if assistance needed other than curve to curve)prices ranges from $49.99 base rate plus mileage and waiting time if round trip is requested.
